Prompt 1

Throughout my entire life I've played one instrument, which was the recorder in fourth grade, and it was forced upon me without choice as I have less musical ability than someone who is deaf. My mother, born and raised in the Bronx, is a die hard Yankee fan and since ever since I can remember she has been putting the Yanks before her own son. To say the least, baseball has been a apart of my life since I exited the womb.

At a young age I started playing tee ball in the rec league in my city. The uniforms, white jersey with teal writing, were nothing more than a t-shirt with print on it, but when I put that on for the first time I got a feeling like no other. Not trying to be corny, but I really think I did fall in love at the very moment. at that age I didn't grasp at all what baseball was going to mean to me in the future.

I remember vividly the last game of the season. Actually not vividly, but I remember making the last out of the game which was the last out of the season. I was playing short stop and a player hit a hard line drive my way. It was probably a little dinger i can now catch with my bare hand, but i was six years old at the time so it felt like A-Rod just drilled one at me. anyways, next thing i knew the ball was in my glove and all my teammates were running up to me just because catching a ball on the fly was a big deal back then. At that moment, my passion for baseball was immediately derived. Each and every day i step on the diamond i strive to re-create that feeling by trying to out do myself and be better than i was yesterday.
